Agriculture is a critical part of Sierra Leone’s economy. Crop farming accounts for 95% of household income, the provision of food and nutrition for the rural population. The main problem currently facing rural farmers is dependence on small-scale, labor-intensive subsistence crops, barely enough to earn an average income of $1.00 a day or $347.00 per year.
To improve the earning power of rural farmers to an average income of $2.00 a day or $730.00 a year, K Line Agri Development Project Sierra Leone Ltd. is introducing soybeans to Sierra Leone’s crop portfolio.
K Line will become the model soybean growers in Sierra Leone, leading the way in integrated technology farming, promoting gender empowerment, and environmentally friendly climate smart practices in rural communities.
K Line Agri Development Project (SL) Ltd. is a private limited liability company incorporated under Sierra Leone’s Companies Act No. 5 of 2009 as amended.
